Index to Pages of Lithologic Column

To ease bandwidth burdens, the Lithologic column is broken into 9 pages. This page has a pointer to each and a table indicating which segment of core is described by each page. The pages themselves are sensitive maps which can call up photographs of boxes of core or descriptions of the lithologic units, including representative thin-section images.
The list below indexes maps which point to annotated Core box photos. The unannotated (raw) photographs are no longer available. The annotated photos indicate the boundaries between lithologic units, areas sampled for point counting, xenoliths, and points of interest. For text on why those points are interesting, bring up the lithologic description of the appropriate unit and find the section pertaining to the box in question; then look under "Additional Comments". You might want to bring up the photo in a new window and a unit description in the main window.
If you hit an error in the maps, please e-mail me (asimow@gps.caltech.edu).
